I was born and raised in Calgary. When I was twenty I wanted to see more of Canada so I moved to Vancouver, where my son was born. Several years later I came home to Calgary, I was in management then and the company moved me to Lethbridge, where my daughter was born. When she was a year old we moved back to Calgary and are still here. Both my children are adults now. My daughter is married and has a one year old daughter and my son runs his own trucking company.

My first job was cleaning offices, I learned a couple of things about myself; I hated cleaning and I didn’t like offices. My second job was driving truck and it was the work I have done most of my working life. I did take a break from it when my children were growing up, but always went back to it. I missed the road. A few of the jobs I did when I was not driving included: managing a restaurant, day care and working in plumbing supply and retail. I did my share of failing in network marketing and being a entrepreneur with Avon, New York Life and AL Williams.

I’m a farm girl at heart. I probably got that from my Dad, who had me riding horses before I could walk. I still ride every chance I get. Every time we went to the farm where the horses were kept I was always volunteering to work in the garden, collect eggs or milk cows.

Over the years I have discovered that I love cooking, not just the recipes that were passed down to me from my Mom, who is Scottish, Grandmother, who was Norwegian, but all kinds. Many weird and wonderful creations come out of the kitchen. One of the things I like to do is ‘tweek’ recipes, we have several favorite restaurants when the ‘tweeking’ doesn’t go well. I love to experiment with different herbs and spices and am always on the lookout for new things to try.

While I am on the subject of trying new things, I believe that it was not just that I needed a career change but my adventuresome nature that caused me to click on the ad that read: “Do You Need a Job?” just a few weeks after I wasn’t driving. I filled out my application and was approved. To tell you the truth I was relieved, I wasn’t sure I would be accepted. I bought my business and invested time and energy into it. The results are hard to believe. Every single thing I was told to do, I did. I didn’t have to innovate or create or “tweak”, I just ran the plays exactly as I was told, worked on entrepreneurial mindset and I now have multiple income streams.

And that was the starting point of major breakthrough in my life!

I have never looked back.
